Who we are
Appalachee Baptist Association is a cooperative fellowship of Baptist churches united by a shared confession and a shared mission. We are not a denominational headquarters and we do not govern our churches — each congregation is autonomous, calling its own pastor and setting its own course. What we offer is partnership: a place where churches pool their prayers, their people, and their resources so that the gospel goes further than it could alone.
Our History
Associations like ours were formed the old-fashioned way — neighboring churches riding out to meet one another, comparing notes, praying over hard seasons, and agreeing to send help when a sister church needed it. That is still the heart of Appalachee. Generations of pastors, deacons, teachers, and faithful members have carried this work forward, planting churches, sending missionaries, and keeping the doors open through lean years and full ones. The names on the rolls have changed many times over; the purpose has not.
What we believe shapes what we do
A few convictions guide every meeting, ministry, and dollar.
Scripture first
The Bible is our authority for faith and practice. Our training, counsel, and cooperation are measured against it.
The local church matters
Every association ministry exists to strengthen a local congregation, never to replace or overrule one.
Mission at home and abroad
We take responsibility for our own communities while joining hands with churches sending workers around the world.
Cooperation over competition
Churches here cheer for one another. A growing church down the road is good news, not a threat.
